Ingredients
- 2 avocados (about 1 ½ cups)
- 1 c. tomatoes
- ½ c. onion
- 3 T lime juice (or lemon)
- half a chili pepper (I use dried ground chili pepper)
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- salt to taste
Guacamole is a popular Mexican dish. The base of the dip is avocado and lime (or lemon) juice. It’s very important to use a ripe avocado, as the taste of the dip depends on it. Most often, this dip is served with chips. My family loves to spread it on bread toasted in the oven, dip vegetables in it, or even use it as a sauce for hot dishes. In addition, guacamole is an excellent cold preventative: garlic and onions + vitamin C (lemon)!
Method
Step 1
Cut the avocado in half. Remove the pit and beat the avocado until smooth. Finely chop the tomatoes and onions, pass the garlic through a press and add to the avocado.
Step 2
Add 3 tablespoons of lemon and chili pepper (I use dried ground chili pepper), add salt to taste and mix well.
Step 3
Optionally, the dip can be mixed in a blender. Serve with chips or bread.
